Questioning the Politics of Today

I've been giving this some thought after reading about how Obama needs to tell "his story" and how he needs to fight back when McCain constantly attacks his character et al, but I have to wonder, why is any of this necessary? When did politics change into this media frenzy that we all know and hate?

Its funny to think that any of this should be used to actually judge what president we should have. Frankly, I am all for banning any and all speeches, ads, etc to do with presidential elections. Why? Isn't a man/woman judged on their actions and not their words? Both candidates are senators, and as such both of them have voting records! Imagine that, an easy to way to distinguish what a man is all about in one simple reading! Its so fracking simple and it seems no one is actually willing to consider this line of though. Of course, I could be wrong and all this media nonsense has convinced me and the rest of America otherwise.

So here is me doing my little part to educate the rest of you:
